Jibannagar Degree College : A brief history Jibannagar Degree College was first established in 1984 at Upzila Head Quarter on 2.96 acre land. It got the recognition of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jessore in the beginning year it started its academic activities in the session of 1984-1985. The center of H.S.C Exam was established in this college in 1988. The courses of B.A, B.S.S and B.B.S were opened in Degree level in 1992 and this courses were affiliated by National University in the session of 1993-1994. The Degree Examination center (pass) was first established in this college in 1999. Now 901 students are studying in H.S.C level and 446 students are in Degree Level. There are two Academic Buildings in this college. Two storeyed Academic Building is called Arts and Commerce Building and three storeyed building is called Science Building. All the academic activities are run these two buildings. This college has also an Administrative (one storeyed) Building having six rooms. There is a big library having various books which is run by a qualified Librarian. The activities of B.N.C.C and Rover Scouts are run by a qualified physical instructor in this college. The students take part in different sports all the year round. Very recently Governing Body (GB) of this college has decided to open the Honors Course in Bengali and Political Science. In the mean time teachers have been employed for Teaching in Honors level. For the permission of admission of the students in Bengali and Political Science and then affiliation, the college authority will apply to the National University as soon as possible.
