Khalishakundi Degree College bearing good will and faith of the people, situated beside the Mathavanga river of Khalishakundi bus stand, at the terminal of the South of Daulatpur upazila under Kushtia district at the conjunction of four upazilas like Daulatpur, Mirpur, Gangni and Alomdanga near Kushtia-Meherpur high road, is the crop of a general afternoon meeting held at Khalishakundi high school field on the 17th September, 1994. In the primary stage, the east side room of the old building of Khalishakundi Union Council is used as a chamber of principal come teachers’ assemble and official and academic activities of college are done. Classes are started with three rooms with fence of bamboo chattai and tin shade. With local help, the late MP Ahsanul Haque Mullah and the DC Md. Nazrul Islam inagutate college campus in the bought land surrounded by Mathavanga river and Wabda D-5 canal with green natural environment on the 7th January, 1995. Later the college is transferred to our own campus on the 18th May, 1995. The college is recognized on the 1st July, 1995 by Jessore Board and is included MPO of Higher Secondary in February of 1998. Colllege code of Jessore Boad is 5452 and MPO Code: 6302073101. Two Trades of H.S.C (B.M) is registered under Bangladesh Technical Board in July, 1999. College code of Technical Board is 27035 and is included MPO in May, 2002. MPO code is 6302093101. The college is registered as Degree (Pass) under National University in the session of 1998-99 and is included MPO in May, 2004. MPO code is 6302073201 and college code is 1017. In spite of Khalishakundi being a village, here is a busy market connected with the capital of Dhaka through communication of Day and Night chouch. Besides, inter-district bus runs from here. With some famous tobacco buying centers, there are sugarcane center, telephone Exchange, Bank, Hospital, Land Revenue office, Community center, some primary schools with separated boys’ and girls’ Secondary schools and police investigation center (I.C). The number of the regular students of Khalishakundi Degree college, bearing good will and faith of the people of the area, is 1277. The result of the previous years of the college is satisfactory.
