This college is founded by professor Syed Fazlul Haq, one of the eminent sons and patrons of learning of Raihanpur Union of Upzila Patharghata in Barguna. Professor Syed Fazlul Haq was a well-known physician, a reputed organizer and the first cancer researcher as well as cancer specialist of Bangladesh. His contribution to the respective fields is noteworthy in the perspective of Bangladesh. At present Syed Fazlul Haq degree college is running under the forceful and dynamic leadership of Alhaj Golam sabur, one of the most charismatic and honest members of the parliament from south Bengal. Already the college has been able to prove its significance in the realm of education by producing envious success.
