There are many secondary level institutions in this locality, but there is no institution for higher education. As there is no institution for higher education, people of the locality especially few generous persons with their lands and economic help, established a higher secondary college in 1995 after the name of Alhaz Abdur Rahman (Bascha Hazi) a renowed olie kamel. The principal, Mr. Maklesur Rahman was the founder of it. Later according to the demand of the local people and in consideration for the students degree level education, the principal and the members of the Governing body developed it as degree level college, named after Nurnagar united degree college. Now it is known as Nurnagar degree college. Now the institution is running science, Arts, commerce at the secondary level and B.A, B.S.S and B.B. S at the degree level.
