| Brief Background of the College |
To immortalize the memories of Bangamata Sheikh Fazillatunnesa Mujib - the wife of the father of the nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman- late Abdul Mannan, an ardent follower of Sheikh Mojibur Rahaman, the first home minister of Bangladesh and minister of health and family welfare , along with other local Awami league leaders have established Sheikh Fazillatunnesa Mujib Mohila College at the heart of Sadar upzilla, Tangail in 1999. On 10th of April 1999 late President Zillur Rahman, the then L.G.R.D and Cooperatives minister, laid the foundation of this college. The daughter of the father of the nation, the honourable Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has founded the academic building on 12th of October 1999 and commenced a new era for the girls’ education in this district. One of the organiser of the Liberation war, the distinguished minister of textiles and jute, Mr Abdul Latif Siddique, has ornamented the post of the chairman of the governing body of this college since 2009. The centre of H.S.C. examination has been set off since 2011. In 2011 the Degree Course -B.A, B.S.S, B.S.S, B.Sc- has been introduced with 24 disciplines. Now it has 732 students, 43 teachers and 12 staffs. The college has gained the favour of all classes of people already and marching towards the future with huge potential.
