Important historical places of interest, Keraniganj, renowned for imprisonment of historical Ghasheti Begum and Ambagicha of Khaja Ahsan Ullah are both situated on the south bank of river Buriganga. Here starts the Keraniganj Mohila College being established in 1987, when it started its academic activities only with 3 students and five subjects in Humanities Group. It got its first recognition in 1993 and was included in MPO in 1994. Subsequently it added two more subjects, and opened Science Group as well. It started to run Graduation (Degree) courses from 1995-96 session. Currently it offers courses in Humanities, Science & Business Studies at H.S.C. level and B.A & B.S.S courses at Graduation (Degree). Development activities are being implemented for improvement of education of the area under the leadership of honorable MP Nasrul Hamid Bipu. The results of the college are satisfactory.
